Starting ProcedureIf you can't start the engine, it may be because you aren't using the correct procedure, which is a little complicated. You must first set the control lever on the top of the housing to the start position, which requires pushing in the throttle trigger and trigger interlock at the same time.

Once the lever locks in place, set the choke to the cold start position - if the engine is cold - and push in the decompression valve, which is next to the choke. Pull the starter cord to get the engine running, then set the choke to the hot position. Don't forget to fill the tank with gas and oil at a 50:1 ratio. Discard your diamond wheel if the teeth become undercut, which means the area metal under the diamond teeth becomes severely worn. An undercut blade can shatter, causing serious or fatal injury. If deposits collect on the teeth of your diamond blade when cutting dense materials, such as granite, they affect the blade's cutting power. Remove them by cutting into an abrasive material, such as sandstone.

Tensioning the V-BeltThe V-belt connects the engine to the cutting wheel and must be properly tensioned for the saw to perform optimally. To do this, you must adjust the tensioning bolt, located on the armature between the wheel and the engine. First loosen the three hexagonal securing the wheel cover to the armature and ensure the arrow on the tensioning bolt points to '0.' Rotate the bolt clockwise about an eighth of a turn - but no further; a spring engages inside the armature and automatically tensions the belt.

You may have to repeat this procedure periodically to keep the proper tension on the belt.

During initial setup, it is essential to check that the battery has been correctly inserted into the STIHL Smart Connector and the isolation film has been removed. The LED signal must light up in green after the battery has been inserted. Please also ensure that the smartphone system requirements are fulfilled, all permissions have been enabled for the STIHL app, and Bluetooth is switched on.
